6:45 PM- 7:05 PM:Tongue Twister Time/Mixer. Split girls into groups of 3-5. Girls receive a letter and must discover a common interest starting with that letter. Then they must make a Tongue Twister rhyme about that interest. Regroup as a whole and present. (Recreation/Creativity)
7:05 PM- 7:30 PM:Dinner. Boil Alphabet Letter Pasta and make a cheese sauce before the event to make a literate (literally!) dinner dish called: Alphabet Mac & Cheese.
7:30 PM- 7:50 PM:Havdallah and cheers.
7:50 PM- 8:20 PM:Alphabet Messages/Communication. Divide girls into 3 groups. Give each group different colored construction paper. Give them lots of alphabet letters and glue and explain to them that they are all working to solve the same "Brain Teaser" and that their goal is to have everyone solve the Brain Teaser. Explain that the only way to communicate with other groups is by writing a message in alphabet soup letters. Regroup as a whole and have a discussion about the symbolism of this program. Writing in letters is time consuming and pain staking and shows how some people fail to communicate because they feel that they know it, so why should they say things they already know to help others? (Sisterhood/Recreation/Creativity)
8:20 PM- 8:40 PM:MIT Program: Soup Acronyms. Split into 4 groups and give each team alphabet soup letters. Winner wins a BBYO-related item. (Recreation/Creativity)
8:40 PM- 9:00 PM:Literacy Scavenger Hunt. Split into 2 teams. Girls have 15 minutes to find an item around the house for all the letters of the alphabet. Each team gets a sheet of paper lettering from A to Z, and they have to fill it in. Give a short shpiel afterwards about world literacy and illiteracy. (REC/CRE/SIS/SOCACT)
