6:00 PM- 6:30 PM: Arriving: For the first thirty minutes girls will arrive. Members are expected to be extra friendly to prospectives and make the prospective feels comfortable.
6:30 PM- 7:00 PM: Mixer: Names and Balloon Stomp: First girls will sit or stand in a circle and say their name, school, grade, and favorite activity/ride at the boardwalk. While this is happening girls will be handed a balloon and be asked to tie it around their ankle for the next part of the mixer. Girls will tie a balloon to their ankle. Each balloon will have a question on a paper inside of it. We will start by explaining the directions and then playing. Girls will try to stomp on other girls’ balloons. Whenever a balloon pops everyone must freeze. Whoever’s balloon popped must say their name again and answer the question inside the balloon. They are out and everyone left continues to play.
7:00 PM- 7:35 PM: SpongeBob Relay: Girls will be split into teams of three. Teams will be grouped into larger teams made up of two teams that will be competing together. Each team will have a sponge filler, a sponge carrier, and a sponge emptier. The sponge carrier will probably get a little wet. The sponge filler will get a sponge wet and place it in the sponge carrier’s neck. The sponge carrier must walk/run to the other side of the field when the sponge emptier is waiting. The sponge emptier will take the sponge and squeeze it into a bucket. In the sponge carrier drops the sponge, they must pick it up, take five normal size steps backwards (or to the starting line), put the sponge back under their neck and start over. That is the only time they can use their hands. Girls much find a way to not drop the sponge and to not squeeze out all of the water by holding too tightly.7:35 PM-
8:10 PM: Snack Time: For snack, we will have popcorn, soda, and sandwiches with either peanut butter or chocolate spread. The sandwiches will be the shape of a shell (or starfish) using a cookie cutter. 8:10 PM- 8:45 PM: Race to Find Stewey: There will be three stations (competitions) on the way to “find Stewey.” Points will be awarded for each one and whichever team has the most points at the end “found Stewey” and gets a prize. Teams will be four to six people.
Station 1: Eat Spooey: The station will start by explaining what spooey is and that our regional food is strawberries and whipped cream, our regional drink is strawberry milk, that our chapter food is pita chips and hummus, and that our chapter dessert is strawberries dipped in chocolate. Then we will explain the activity. Each team will choose a representative who doesn’t mind getting a little messy. That person will try to find a pretzel in a plate full of whipped cream. Girls can’t use their hands. Teams will receive points based on how fast they find a pretzel.
Station 2: Plan a Program: The station will start by explaining what an event and what a program is. Then we will explain the six fold. Each team will receive twelve cards. Six will have a fold written on them and six will have a program that fits into one fold. Teams will have to match each program to a fold. Whichever team finishes first and is correct wins and we will keep playing for second, third, fourth place, and so on.
Station 3: Go to a Convention: The station will start by explaining what a convention is and explaining the four conventions this year (Kallah, JLC, RLTC, and Spring). Then we will explain what dress-ups are. Each team will have to come up with a dress-up using garbage bags, newspaper, and tape. Then they will present their dress-up and we will award points for first, second, and third place. After all three station points will be calculated and the winning team will receive the prize.
