6:50 PM- 7:05 PM: If you could have three wishes what would they be. (ALLADIN!)
7:05 PM- 7:30 PM: Don’t grow up too fast- Bat Mitzvahs. Re- create your bat mitzvah dress out of garbage bags. Find a fun excerpt on youth in Judaism. (HAKUNA MATATA: LION KING!)
7:30 PM- 7:50 PM: Havdallah and cheers.
7:50 PM- 8:20 PM: Fighting impulses. Read out statements, and if the statement is applicable to the girl, they must take a step forward. Eventually, at least 1 girl will “hit the wall” (reach the end of the room). Talk about how impulses hold you back and keep you from moving forward in life, and how at some point, people reach a breaking point. Also, read out statistics about drug and alcohol addiction. Afterwards, have a discussion about the activity of stepping forward. (ALICE IN WONDERLAND!)

If you or a close friend have ever had OCD, take a step forward. 8. If you or a close friend have ever had a cutting addiction, take a step forward. 9. If you or a close friend have ever had a working addiction, take a step forward. 10. If you or a close friend have ever had a shopping addiction, take a step forward. 11. If you have been affected by someone else’s addiction, take a step forward. 12. If you or someone you know changed into a different person because of any addiction, take a step forward. 13. If your addiction has ever affected others, take a step forward. 14. If you or a close friend’s addiction has kept them from doing something, take a step forward. 15. If you have ever lost a friend or family member because of their addiction, take a step forward. 16. If you have ever had a friend hospitalized o r taken to any type of clinic because of their addiction, take a step forward.
· 1 in every 8 Americans has a significant problem with alcohol or drugs. 40% of these have a “dual diagnosis”- meaning they are diagnosed with a mental or nervous disorder as well. · Approximately 27 million Americans either use illicit drugs regularly or are heavy drinkers. 16 million of these need immediate attention. · By age 18, about 12% of all youth are illicit drug users. · About 30% of young people between the ages of 12 and 20 reported drinking alcohol in the past month. · Nearly 32% of high school seniors use marijuana regularly. · In 2008, about 32% of all teenage girls and about 22% of all teenage boys admitted to cutting themselves regularly.
· How does this relate to Disney? (answer: Alice in Wonderland) · Are you surprised that anybody stepped forward for any of the statements? Why or why not? · Why would someone “lie” in this? (answers vary: people are afraid of getting help, are afraid of change, are afraid of admitting they have a problem, etc.)
8:20 PM- 9:00 PM: Make door hangers for sick children. Meanwhile, have girls sign and decorate the “El Al Magic Carpet. Play Disney music while they’re working.
9:00 PM-9:20 PM: MBA/ Disney Princess. Write good and bad characteristics of the princesses. On left write all positive qualities appearance or other qualities, and on the right write negative qualities. As a group decide whether the princess is beautiful or not. Discuss about what makes a person perfect, how people can improve themselves, and if 1 really bad characteristic cancels out other qualities. (CINDERELLA, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, MULAN!)
9:20 PM-9:40 PM: Scene it (2 groups). Give Disney stickers for prizes. (ALL DISNEY MOVIES!)
9:40 PM-9:55 PM: Communication. Split girls into 3 groups. The 1st girl draws a random drawing on a sheet of paper. The 2nd looks at it, and explains it to the 3rd girl. The 3rd girl re-draws it according to what the 2nd girl says. The girls are sitting back to back so no one can see anything or peek. The point is that Information gets tainted. Disney movies are constantly remade and changed, that it loses its original meaning/message. (ALL DISNEY MOVIES)
9:55 PM-end: Choice. Take a vote. The 2 options are: watching a Disney movie of their choice, or having Good and Welfare. Majority wins.
