Planners: Michelle Rubinstein and Nicole Pavlovsky
7:00 PM- 7:15 PM: Everyone arrives
7:15 PM- 7:35 PM: Have everyone go around and say their name, grade, school, and favorite body part (with a funny motion?). Then play shipong hangman edition. This game requires getting everyone into a circle and covering their teeth with their lips. The goal is to not let your teeth show as you go pass the word "ship" around--or "shipong" to change the direction. If someone laughs/shows their teeth, they must put a hand behind their back the foot...etc. HANGMAN STYLE!!!
7:35 PM- 7:55 PM: Mixer: Pair everyone up with someone they don't know too well (big/little sister) and have them draw each other. BUTT instead of drawing lines, you write words that represent that person. For example, instead of drawing a circle for a head, write what that person hopes for/favorite quote/something similar in the shape of a head....or writing the name of their favorite song as the ear.
7:55 PM- 8:10 PM: Charades: Split everyone into two equal groups. Have one person come up from a group (alternate each turn) and choose a slip of paper out of a hat. She must then act this out, only for her teammates to guess what it is. This version will be related to only body parts: eye of a needle, foot of a bed, etc.
8:10 PM- 8:30 PM: Havdallah and cheers.
8:30 PM- 8:50 PM: M&M Face: Select three willing people to put trash bags over their bodies and shaving cream on their faces. Then split everyone into teams (according to how many volunteers there are...2-3). Finally, have everyone throw M&Ms at them, trying to make it stick to their faces. ****We weren't allowed to do this program because the parents housing didn't want their 100% white house messed up, so INSTEAD: we did Body SHAPE Program. Gather a bunch of wooden shapes (like the elementary school shapes). Split girls into groups of 4-5, and give them a few handfuls of miscallenous shapes. They then have to create their "perfect body" using those shapes. Have a quick discussion afterwards. (What was the point of this program? What does this show about the idea of a "perfect body"?) Give a punny shpiel how there's no such thing as a perfect body SHAPE and that everyone has their own body SHAPE.****
8:50 PM- 9:10 PM: Disability Awareness: Give everyone five minutes to get themselves into a single file line by birthday without talking (deaf). Then split the group into two equal teams through the middle of the line. Give each team a bunch of colored pencils and one sheet of butcher paper across the room. Each team has to create a drawing under the theme of "An Airplane With A Twist", since we're an airline! 9:10 PM- 9:25 PM: Butt to Butt: Have a dance party with one person yelling out commands: butt to butt, finger to finger, nose to nose, head to head, etc. Every time a command is yelled out, each person must find a new partner and dance accordingly. The last pair to find each other is out. (Play with music relating to body parts)
