12:15 PM- 12:20 PM: Intro. In America, Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain. Team A is team America and team B is team Britain. Team America is trying to gain their independence from team Britain. We will be having multiple battles between nations. The winning team for each battle will receive 5 stars. The congress, (Alex and Kelly) can award extra stars at anytime throughout the battles to teams that work exceptionally well together and have good attitudes and include everyone on the team… or for being really creative. They can also take stars away at anytime for any opposite behavior. At the end of all the battles, the team with the most stars is the winner. Team America is fighting or their independence, and Team Britain is fighting to stay in power. The winning team gets to force the losing team to do something for them. When the winning team has deliberated and decided what they want the opposing team to do for them, they have to run their proposal through the congress (Alex and Kelly) for approval. If approved, then the losing team must comply with the winning teams wishes….let the battle begin!12:20 PM- 12:45 PM: Mixer. Divide everyone into either Team A or Team B. Team A makes their constitution and Declaration of Independence for an “ideal America” and all sign it. Team B does the same. Afterwards, they both explain it to the congress and they will decide which is more thought out and creative. This winning team will receive the five stars.
12:45 PM- 1:30 PM:Lunch. Buy kosher hot dogs and hamburgers and have a BBQ.
1:30 PM- 1:45 PM:America was owned by Britain before we gained our independence. In order to understand the people living around you, you have to be up to date on you British slang. Are you smarter than a British? We will state a British slang word to team A. Your team will get 1 min to discuss if anyone knows the translation without any hints. If you translate the word correctly without any hints, you will earn 3 points. If you have no idea what the word could mean, then you reply, give us the options. We will then give you four possible translations. Your team will then get 30 seconds to discuss which translation is correct. When time is up you must respond. If you are correct, you will get 1 point. If you are incorrect nobody gets the points. Then we will repeat the process with team B. After 10 rounds for each team, whichever team has earned the most points is the winning team. The winning team earns 5 stars.
1:45 PM- 2:30 PM:Capture the flag. The Americans will be trying to capture the British flags, and the British will be trying to capture the American’s flags. The team to capture all the flags had a mightier army and earns 5 stars.
2:30 PM- 3:00 PM:Info: The American War of Independence, began as a war between Britain and the North American continent and ended in a global war between several European great power. The war was the culmination of the political American Revolution, whereby the colonists rejected the right of the Parliament of Great Britain to govern them without representation. In 1775, revolutionaries gained control of each of the thirteen colonial governments, set up the Second Continental Congress, and formed a Continental Army. Petitions to the king to intervene with the parliament on their behalf resulted in Congress being declared traitors and the states in rebellion the following year. The Americans responded by formally declaring their independence as a new nation, the United States of America, claiming sovereignty and rejecting any allegiance to the British monarchy. This is the American War of Independence! You’re ammo is tapioca balls. Alex and Kelly are the referees. You have to stay on your side of the battlefield and cannot pass the center line or you are automatically killed. Once you have been hit by a tapioca ball three times, you are dead and out of the game. The team that has militia standing the longest is the winner of the war and will receive five stars, and the other team’s army is completely destroyed…..ready, set, shoot!!
